The Express

An instrument of modern design, The EXPRESS features newly re-designed soundports, inspired by the D'Aquisto "Solo", and a more vaulted arching, for a warm and rich acoustical timbre, developing closer to the player. An expression of post-modern minimalism, the Express is trimmed out with understated binding, stark ebony fittings, and is most often ordered with no fingerboard inlay.

Jimmy D'Aquisto started modern luthiers down this path of removing all but the most necessary accouterments from the instrument, refining the form to it's essence, and opening the structure to speak freely. We hope he would have approved of our interpretation.
